Arran Whisky Amarone Cask Finish Whisky
Nose: Fairly light on the finish with it adding a herbal, winey plum and cherry note. Slightly butyric as Amarone finishes have a tendency to be, but it is not overpowering or unpleasant. Underpinning all this is the classic Arran honeyed, cereal, malt. A lovely nose with a good depth and hints of earthy-peat.
Palate: Dry, soft and full of gently spiced dried fruit, plums, coffee and wood tannins followed by herbal currants and the honeyed malt and vanilla oak. Like the nose it is not too heavy on the finish and it flows well. Palate cleansing alcohol leads the way into a mouth coating coffee-vanilla finish with a late flourish of peat smoke |
